When Changes Happen Remember NOT to Panic!
Seems like lots of reaction in February and more to come in March! Some reacting is good! WE all react at times sometimes reaction causes change like the recent Legislative changes in TN, IA and FL. When change occurs I have found over the years my quick “pop-offs” haven’t always produced the best results so I think responding is better. Figuring out a strategy and implementing a well thought out plan quickly is better than rushing into decisions. Also when you are elected or appointed into a position that conflicts with your personal business it is even more important to think things through carefully and be less reactive and more responsive. We are emotionally driven human beings so reacting is what comes naturally and thank goodness! Because if it weren’t for the reactionaries those who NEVER like to change would continue in the daily rut and never move forward. Therefore a more important step is once the reactionary has started the process, we NOW have the opportunity to make it better by responding. To those who have a STRONG voice and use it often you can be effective however you can also cause a lot of chaos.
With that being said, I’m going to change the focus to something that hits a more personal note with my business, Facebook Changes! To those who are upset over the recent Facebook changes to timeline for business, I like to be a little more “glass half full” kind of person and more strategic with my voice.
I confirm with experts and developers to be a quick action taker that will make the most sense for business owners (being that I am business owner as well). As an educator and advocate for Bodywork Business owners I continue to educate myself on the changes and developing the BEST online and social media strategies for our customers and future customers. The reasons to do business on Facebook haven’t changed; 1 billion monthly users, building BRAND awareness, and keeping your content focused on conversation to engage and connect with your customers and potential customers. Some of the most interesting highlights with these new Timeline for businesses that I have discovered are:
- You can now pin a post to the top of your wall for 7 days at time! Very useful tactics for upcoming events, classes, links to webinars, etc…
- You can now send personal messages to your fans from Pages! POWERFUL tool that wasn’t available before.
- Have more control with your Administrators, so no more people “hi-jacking” your page and you can easily and securely outsource those positions!
