Hit The Beach

July 4, 2011
By

This July 4th weekend, I am reminded of one of the best promotions I ever heard of.  With a plethora of promotions out there, it is a creative therapist that can dream up a new concept and make a marketing success out of it.  That’s just what this therapist did.  It was called Hit the Beach.  During the month of July, bring in a sample of sand and receive an extra ten minutes on your scheduled appointment.

The therapist I am referring to wanted her clients to enjoy summer, take time from their busy lives, enjoy the outdoors and relax.  Since the beach was close to her practice and accessible to her clients, this wasn’t a far fetched request.  Being a proponent of giving away “time versus money”, she found it easy to add an additional ten minutes to their scheduled appointments.  A 60 minute appointment became a 70 minute appointment; a 30 minute appointment became a 40 minute appointment.

The clients loved it!  Not only did they enjoy the extra ten minutes of time, they appreciated the “push” to get them to the beach.  Some even found the extra ten minutes so beneficial, they asked for it again and were willing to pay for it next time.   Because this promotion was publicized, her typical slower July schedule filled completely.  It was a win-win for everyone.

Be creative in your marketing efforts.  Try something random and fun.  You never know; it might be your best promotion ever.  Be safe and enjoy this holiday.  Whatever your politics, today is a day to celebrate our country and all that is great about it.

Stay focused.

Creativity goes hand in hand with marketing and marketing drives sales, plus it was something “fun” for clients to do.   Great example!

    Jenn,

This is awesome!  A little creativity goes a long way, and helps you stand out from the crowd.
