Do You Believe in Magic?

February 10, 2011

I wish for abundance for all, don’t you?
I wish for professional education for all, don’t you?
I wish for ways to better myself and my business, don’t you?
I wish there were some magic wand that could make all this happen, don’t you?
I am not sure about you, but I answered YES to all of the above. But how can you make all these things a reality. How can you begin the wheels of progress turning so that each of these wishes might come true. I personally believe you should first see the greater scale of the goal, and then begin your journey in a space that makes sense to you and is also within your scope of immediate control.
As much as I would like to change the world for the better, I have to do my part one step at a time. If I look at the entire need in its bulk sum, it can be overwhelming. But if I can break this down into things which I can control, then MASTER THEM, I find I am in a far greater and much stronger place to impact my world for the better.
It is often difficult to see the needs and feel empowered to help unless your own house is in order. If you are struggling to make it, then seeing a way to reach out and help other s seems more daunting. So how can we begin to impact CHANGE within our own house? I believe we first must recognize the opportunity we have before us to strengthen our own foundations. If you better educate yourself, your business may prosper providing greater abundance for you and your family. And waving the magic wand is not as difficult as you may think.
Since you are reading this on a computer, then no doubt you are somewhat computer savvy. I have personally been amazed at the plethora of educational resources, free seminars, free webinars, downloadable ebooks, and online conferences spanning across CAM segments these days. Much of this education, instruction, direction and perspective can be found in free resources online.
Do you subscribe to online blogs regarding the Massage Industry? Do you participate in industry related forums where a question can be answered in a matter of hours? Have you joined social media sites specifically geared towards massage professionals? Do you join groups of interest pertaining to your penchant or specialty? Have you investigated new techniques and modalities online that might expand your horizons and provide for you a wider array of offerings to share with your clients? All of these ideas feed the education wish as well as the bettering yourself and your business wish without breaking your wallet. So far, none of these ideas mentioned cost a dime. And it is all at your fingertips.
So if you find ways online to market more effectively, to present more professionally, to add modalities and flexibility in your offerings, and to potentially add more black ink to the bottom line, then the onus is upon you to put these ideas into motion. This will fulfill the wish for abundance. Any real and authentic effort you put into utilizing the tips, information and ideas you gain online can have profound results on gaining new clients as well as client retention. If your efforts are rewarded, then the wish for greater abundance is fulfilled. Once you are in a more secure place yourself, it makes it much easier to reach out and work to help others do the same thing. Nothing speaks louder than experience, and many of these providers of information online, Such as www.massagenerd.com or www.massageprofessionals.com and more are sharing their experiences in what has worked for them so that you may have the same positive outcomes. After all aren’t we really wired to be outcomes based? If someone has paved a path for you, and provides the information for free, then the only thing keeping you from waving the magic wand is YOU.
Get Online, Get Involved, Stay Informed, Be Part of the Community, Attend Free Webinars, Sign Up for Free Online Classes, Subscribe to Blogs, and FAN useful and informative pages on Facebook. This tool we have at our fingertips is powerful, and it is called the internet. Learn to use it to do more than order pizza, and rent movies! It is a world of useful information LITERALLY at your fingertips. Wave your OWN magic wand and see what happens! You might well be surprised at the positive outcome.

It has been wonderful watching this industry grow! Students and LMT’s have so many resources now it is amazing.I, personally, enjoy seeing new information, video clips, blogs on updates etc.I even have a new website, http://www.MassageNetworkNews.com where I am posting massage video clips on many topics. Some of them I have created, some of them my colleagues have created. It will be a place to view these in one place!I DO BELIEVE IN MAGIC too!FaceBook has been magic. It has connected me with so many colleagues across the US and LMT’s and students everywhere. It is fun to get to know each other , network and see what is being offered.I have a fan page on FB – MassageProCE where I also post information, articles, blogs, videos and courses for CE’s.  It’ s been great to see questions and suggestions posted that help everyone. Some of you may know, I am assisting the MassageNerd now too and creating new video topics and posing questions on the fan page so everyone can help each other out there with their experience. It’s FUN!I even have a Massage Career Blog! The webinars have been convenient and I have learned about these via Social Media and E-Newsletters!
